DOLE QUEZON DROPS THE PRESCRIPTION FOR SAFETY: DRUGSTORES GET OSH DOSE

On November 19, 2025, thirty-one (31) representatives from the Drugstores Association of the Philippines – Quezon Chapter came together at Max’s Restaurant in Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas City for a comprehensive orientation on Department Order No. 252-25, conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment – Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE-QPO).
The activity was organized to strengthen workplace safety, reinforce compliance with national standards, and guide establishments on how to uphold a more secure and responsible environment for all workers.
What unfolded inside the warmly lit function hall was far more than a policy discussion; it was a collective commitment to prioritize human lives above all else. The orientation delved deep into the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 11058 — the country’s primary safeguard for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
Participants learned how to properly implement OSH Standards, the key duties and responsibilities of employers and workers, and the penalties awaiting non-compliant establishments. Through clear explanations and relatable examples, the session transformed complex regulations into practical tools that empower workplaces to prevent accidents before they happen.
DOLE-QPO Officer-in-Charge Ms. Cristina H. Barayang underscored the value of the initiative, saying: “Programs like this build safer communities. When establishments understand the standards and embrace their role in protecting every worker, we reduce risks, prevent harm, and create workplaces where dignity and wellness are non-negotiable.”
For many attendees, the orientation served as both a reminder and a challenge: compliance is not merely a requirement — it is a shared responsibility rooted in compassion and integrity. As participants exchanged insights, asked questions, and reflected on their own workplace practices, the event became a springboard for collective action toward safer drugstores and healthier working environments across Quezon Province.
In the end, the message resonated clearly: knowledge saves lives, and compliance protects futures. As DOLE Quezon continues to guide industries toward safer standards, the November 19 gathering stands as a testament to the power of unity and understanding — a moment when leaders chose to rise together for the people they serve.

ORYENTASYON SA OSH PARA SA MGA BOTIKA NG QUEZON
Noong Nobyembre 19, 2025, tatlumpu’t isang (31) kinatawan mula sa Drugstores Association of the Philippines – Quezon Chapter ang nagtipon sa Max’s Restaurant, Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas City para sa isang komprehensibong oryentasyon ukol sa Department Order No. 252-25 na pinangunahan ng Department of Labor and Employment – Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE-QPO).
Idinaos ang aktibidad upang higit pang patatagin ang kaligtasan sa mga lugar-paggawa, palakasin ang pagsunod sa pambansang pamantayan, at gabayan ang mga establisyemento sa pagpapatupad ng mas ligtas, responsable, at makataong kapaligiran para sa lahat ng manggagawa.
Higit pa sa isang talakayang teknikal ang naganap sa loob ng maliwanag at mainit na bulwagan—ito ay naging sama-samang paninindigan na unahin ang buhay ng tao sa lahat ng pagkakataon. Tinalakay sa oryentasyon ang Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations ng Republic Act No. 11058, ang pangunahing batas na nagtataguyod ng Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) sa bansa.
Nalaman ng mga kalahok kung paano tamang ipatupad ang OSH Standards, ang mga tungkulin at pananagutan ng mga employer at manggagawa, pati na ang mga kaparusahan para sa hindi sumusunod na establisyemento. Sa pamamagitan ng malinaw na pagpapaliwanag at mga halimbawa mula sa tunay na karanasan, ang mga komplikadong regulasyon ay naging praktikal na gabay upang maiwasan ang aksidente bago pa man ito mangyari.
Binigyang-diin ni DOLE-QPO Officer-in-Charge Ms. Cristina H. Barayang ang kahalagahan ng programa:
“Ang mga ganitong inisyatiba ay nagtatayo ng mas ligtas na komunidad. Kapag nauunawaan ng mga establisyemento ang mga pamantayan at buong-pusong tinatanggap ang kanilang papel sa pagprotekta sa bawat manggagawa, nababawasan natin ang panganib, napipigilan ang kapahamakan, at nakakalikha tayo ng mga lugar-paggawa kung saan ang dignidad at kalusugan ay hindi basta-bastang ipinagpapalit.”
Para sa marami, ang oryentasyon ay nagsilbing paalala at hamon: ang pagsunod ay hindi lamang obligasyon—ito ay kolektibong responsibilidad na nakaugat sa malasakit at integridad. Habang nagpapalitan sila ng pananaw, nagtatanong, at sinusuri ang kani-kanilang praktis sa trabaho, ang pagtitipon ay naging simula ng higit pang pagkilos tungo sa mas ligtas na mga botika at mas malusog na lugar-paggawa sa buong Lalawigan ng Quezon.
Sa huli, malinaw ang mensahe: ang kaalaman ay nagliligtas, at ang pagsunod ay nagtatanggol ng kinabukasan. Habang patuloy na ginagabayan ng DOLE Quezon ang mga industriya tungo sa mas mataas na pamantayan ng kaligtasan, ang pagtitipong ito ay nagpapatunay sa kapangyarihan ng pagkakaisa at pag-unawa—isang sandaling pinili ng mga pinuno na magkaisa para sa mga taong kanilang pinaglilingkuran.
Dahil kapag nagsisimula ang kaligtasan sa lugar-paggawa, umaalab ang pag-asa saan mang dako.
